Our troop has campouts nearly every month during the school year. Each trip is focused on different things. For example, a campout in September may be focused on hiking or biking, whereas a campout in March could be focused on earning Merit Badges or on winter sports. Every one of our regular campouts requires the Scout to bring a signed Permission Slip and a fee payable to Troop 29 to one of our Troop Meetings by the deadline before the trip.
The troop uses Sign Up Genius to advertise and do signups for the monthly troop outings.
Summer Camp
Every year, the troop participates in the Mayflower Council’s summer camp at Camp Squanto, in Plymouth. There the scouts can earn a variety of Merit Badges, including Swimming and First Aid. In most years, the troop attends during the second week of July. Signups usually begin in April.
