Upcoming Trips/Activities

5/15-5/16 – Midstate Trail Hike (Note date change)

Leave Saturday am, with one night camping at Treasury Valley  $15.00  Backpacking with approximately 5.5 miles in and 5 miles out.  Hike to Sampson’s pebble on way to camp.  The deadline for sign up is May 4; if there is not enough participation, the trip will be cancelled.

6/18-6/20 – Washburn Island Kayaking

7/18-7/24 – Camp Yawgoog- Summer Camp (Note this is a change from Camp Squanto) We would be in the Sandy Beaches camp in campsite Norman Rockwell. This is a great opportunity for older scouts to try a new camp experience as well as earn merit badges that have not been traditionally offered at Squanto. For new scouts, there is great program called New Frontier.  Scouts can drop into the sessions and learn many of the skills that they will need in order to progress from Scout through First Class. Volunteer Opportunity

The Town of Franklin is looking for volunteers to assist with Earth Day Clean up on April 25th from 9-12. Mr. Apicella has pre-approved this event to count towards Scout’s service hours as long as they are not trying to count towards another organization (like High School) and they can provide evidence that they were there (event says they will issue certificates).  This is a good way to earn 3 hours of community service towards rank advancement.   Scouts are asked to wear their yellow class b shirts while participating (try to work together in groups) to help provide visibility to the troop as well. 4/9-4/11 – Camp Squanto – Biking and Tenderfoot Weekend

Departure will be from the Franklin VFW Hall at 5:30pm Friday April 9th. Scouts should arrive at 5:00pm to the VFW hall to help prepare the Troop and their Patrols for departure. On Sunday morning we will then return to the VFW Hall at approximately 10:30am. Location Camp Squanto in Plymouth. 

Note: Trip Requirements

Each adult needs to provide a health form part A & B and a copy of their insurance card. Signed and dated.

Each scout needs a consent form for this specific outing, signed and dated.
