Troop News 10/27/20

10/28 Troop Meeting – Franklin Methodist Church   7:00 – 8:30p – Pumpkin carving will be in the field behind the Church. There will be opportunity for rank advancement and games if time allows. Scouts should wear Class B Shirt or Troop 29 Sweatshirt.

11/4 PLC And Committee Meeting Zoom information to be sent later.

  • Committee Meeting (7:30 – 8:30)    All adults are encouraged to attend the committee meeting

11/11 Troop Meeting – Location TBD   7:00 – 8:30pm Veteran’s Day Celebration

Upcoming Trips

11/20 – 11/22 Nobscot – Camping- Sudbury MA

The troop leaves the VFW at 5:30 Friday night. Return to Franklin on Sunday, time to be determined.

ScoutBook Update

Scoutbook is now leveraging Single-Sign on. Your account credentials used for Scoutbook.com are now the same as for my.scouting.org.  More information is available here:  https://help.scoutbook.com/knowledge-base/sso-self-helps/For those scouts who want to access Scoutbook:  Only parents can give their own Scout’s access to their own account..


Parent role – Parents have full unrevokable parent rights to their children in Scoutbook. They are able to mark his advancement as “Completed” which is represented by a green checkbox. They cannot mark advancements as approved unless they are also in Scoutbook as a leader or on the unit committee. Parents can give their Scout’s access to their own account. Parents can send a message to any leader in the unit or if they are connected to a Scout they can send a message to the Scout and his parents.

Scout role – Able to mark his or her advancement as “Completed” which is represented by a green checkbox. They cannot mark as advancements as approved. They can edit his or her profile. He or she can also remove themselves from having access to their account.
