Troop News: Scout Day on the Hill

February 23 – Scout Day on the Hill

This is an exciting opportunity for Old Colony Council scouts of all ages, their leaders and their parents to see the bigger picture of Scouting here in Mass.  We are being hosted by State Senate leaders who want to meet Scouts, hear their stories and provide them with a glimpse of state government in action.

We will have a ceremony, a citation presentation, a “state of the state address for Scouting”, a behind the scenes tour and much more.  Plus Scouts will be part of a formal Senate session.  Governor Baker is also expected to attend.   Each council in Mass has been asked to bring 25 Scouts.

Council staff are working hard to identify kids from all over.  Space is limited and will be on a first come first served basis.  For security purposes, walk ins will not be allowed.  Scouts need to have a full uniform to participate.  We will be getting a bus to take everyone into Boston that day as well as back home.  It will leave from our Canton office at 7:30am and we expect to be back by 3pm.  Scouts and parents/leaders are asked to bring a brown bagged lunch.  Water will be provided.

If you are interested, please contact Bill Dubar and complete this Scout Day Form.
