Troop 29: Important Message, Please Read

All scouts are expected to attend the upcoming Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 4:00pm, and all families are encouraged to attend.

If your scout has an important conflict that will prevent him from participating in the Eagle COH, please notify Anna dos Santos at anna.dossantos@comcast.net as soon as possible, but no later than 12/26/14 at noon.  Scouts will be assigned various roles in the Eagle ceremony, so it’s critical that we know who is attending.

Scouts should arrive at the Eagle COH at the Franklin United Methodist Church by 3:00pm to rehearse for the ceremony. Please direct any questions to Anna.

Propane Guidelines

  • The VFW generously lets us use their basement for storage, but their insurance does not allow for propane to be stored in the facility.
  • Under NO circumstances can any propane canisters be left at the VFW.  Whether the canister is full or empty – it cannot be stored at the VFW.  The troop will lose the ability to store items with the VFW if propane is left in the storage area.
  • In the event that you see a propane canister in the facility, please immediately remove it, bring it home, and contact Mr. Ryan at either martin_ryan@comcast.net or 508-685-9638 and we will determine the best way to handle the canister.

1/23 – 1/24th  Klondike @ Squanto  “Gold in the Cold”

  • It’s 1899 and gold is discovered in the Klondike region of the Yukon. Suddenly, from all over the country, thousands converge on this forbidding part of North America to “Strike it Rich.” They earn the nickname Stampeders because of their single-minded perseverance to reach the gold fields. Stampeders had to brave climbing sheer walls of ice in Chilkoot Pass and the dangers of the Dead Horse Trail. Few had the stamina to make it. Will you?
