On 10/1

• 6 – 7pm there will be a scout leadership meeting for all scouts with a position of responsibility.
• 7 – 7:30pm will be the PLC meeting

10/1  PLC and Troop Committee Meeting – Charter School

• PLC 6:00pm.   Please note time change for this meeting only.
• Troop Committee 7:30 – all parents are encouraged to attend. Key items to discuss will be: Assign support for monthly outings; outing costs; leadership roles/responsibilities; and other troop business
• Troop Dues – installment for Oct or full payment if not yet submitted
• Final date to lock in the lower $20 rate for Oct outing.  Stop by between 6:00 – 8:30 to drop off your registration.

• The yearly dues will cover all rechartering fees and will eliminate the need to do a major fundraiser during the year.

• The Fall Camporee is at the Canoe River Wilderness Area in Foxboro.
• Cost will be $20 if signed up by 10/1 (tonight). After tonight, the cost will increase to $25.   Final deadline to sign up will be 10/8.

• Deadline to submit completed merit badge blue cards, partial summer camp badges and rank advancements to Mrs. Ryan.
• Troop COH will be 10/29 at 7pm at the Charter School.   Families should plan on attending.

• Coordinate a trip outing for a month.
• There will be movement in current roles (Chairman, ASM, etc).  Now is a perfect time to be trained.

9/26 – 9/28 Troop Outing

• Camping at Savoy State Park on the Mohawk Trail in the Berkshire Mountains.
• Saturday includes a ten mile day pack hike in Savoy State Park, with a mid-day stop to cook a trail side lunch.  Great opportunity for cooking MB trail cooking you don’t want to miss.
• All scout families need to complete the permission form. Savoy St. Forest 9-26-14-2

• Checks should be made out to “Troop 29” and should be given to Anna dos Santos or Deb Ryan.

Community Service:  VFW Clean up 

• Thank you for all that came out to support the VFW by weeding, mowing, and painting.   Great results were achieved!

Just a reminder that Troop 29 will be completing Community Service at the VFW this Sunday (9/14) from 1 to 4pm

Come out and support the VFW by weeding, mowing, sweeping and painting. All hours count towards community service for rank advancement. Please bring working gloves, rakes, paint brushes, wheel barrels and other tools. A cookout will follow with hamburgers and hotdogs.

All Patrol Leaders and SPLs should plan to participate if at all possible.

• There are 2 months where the troop outing dates have not been finalized:  April and June.
• Our first scout outing will be 9/26-9/28.  Finalization of trip is in progress.

10/5/14   Scout Volunteer Opportunity for Remington Jefferson Challenge  (Rain Date 10/19)

• Remington Jefferson is holding  a 2K-5K walk/run in addition to a Spartan Obstacle Course (for ages 7-14 yrs. old.) and needs youth volunteers for the water tables from 10:30 – 3pm.  They are needing 3-4 youth at each water location throughout the course handing out water.
•  Please contact Rachel Klawson at rachel@klawson.org.  Mrs. Klawson will also have sign ups at the 9/10 troop meeting.
